Ethnomedicine
Biopsychosocial model first of all needs some facts & paradigms
to prepare social services &
help human being to be more adaptive.
Ayurveda, Yoga, Hippocratic medicine (Arabic medicine) and Chinese medicine are some of this
historical models of biopsychosocial theory.
All of this medical
systems are holistic and semiexperimental approaches to medicine
:
* Systemic , because their approaches to signs and symptoms are based on
mind-body-universe unity.
* Holistic , because of studying diseases as
patterns of imbalance and their natural methods to restore this dynamic balance.
* Semiexprimental , because of philosophical
assumptions in their experimental researches. This is the main
deference between contemporary systemic approaches & traditional types.
IIHH adopted an interactionistic methodology in ethnomedical studies and follows
a fundamental dialogue between modern medicine & traditional medicine.
Our philosophical studies follow an experimental-holistic methodology without any philosophical
assumptions of traditional medicine and without reductionistic
& specialization scattering of
modern medicine.
Our survey studies are focused on Iran and
religious, mystical, magical, traditional and
household non organic therapeutic method with involved mind-body interaction.
