Psychological agents may alternated autoimmune
diseases as a predisposing
factor, an aggregative factor and/or a therapeutic factor. This study is concerning a 44 years old man who affected by
Behcet's disease about 4 years befor manifested by arthralgia and moral
aphtha.
In spite of medication prednison 5 mg, colchicine 1 mg/day , he suffered several pain full
aphtha which provided him troubles in feeding and speaking.
After 3 sessions of hypnosis his pain controlled completely and
corticostroid therapy was ceased.
After 4th session patient was educated GAI and he was exercising GAI at home daily along
rest of the therapeutic course. Healing process completed in 6th session and no
aphtha was seen.
This period of complete remission continued 45 days
later,
Although there was not any remission period befor 6 monthes follow up showed relapse
period accompanied stop to daily exercises and after restart ,signs ameliorated again. But along this long period he had no pain.
This report
suggests a case-control study to consider different aspects of this psychoneuroimmunologic approach to
Behcet's disease.
